Dharti was incorporated in Nov 1993. The operations commenced with one cutter suction dredging unit for Paradeep Port Trust at the fishing harbor location. During 1994-95 the second dredging unit was secured while dredging the famous Hussain Sagar Lake in the city of Hyderabad. Likewise the Company has a large equipment base which is probably the largest Cutter Suction base in the Asia Pacific region.
During 2005, Dharti took a big leap in rock dredging by securing the capital dredging works of Visakhapatnam Port Trust. This prestigious project involves drilling and blasting in granite rock and the estimated quantity is 200,000 m3. It also involves One Million m3 of dredging in normal soft soil with disposal offshore at fifteen nautical miles.
Asia Pacific
Dharti commenced its operations in Asia Pacific during 2002-2003 when it secured the prestigious pipeline trenching and backfilling works at Batam (near Singapore). Since then it has successfully completed two more trenching projects for Total Indonesia and one capital dredging project for installation of offshore platform in the Kalimantan region of Indonesia. The company has recently executed the trenching and backfilling works for offshore gas pipeline laying for Nippon Steel in Indonesia.
Middle East
Dharti commenced its operations in the Sultanate of Oman during 2003-2004 with the capital dredging works related to Kasab Port through Galfar. Since then it has completed four more projects in the Sultanate of Oman for STFA, Galfar and Ministry of Fisheries.
Dharti secured the trenching and backfilling contract for the NEAD Project in Abu Dhabi in Jan-05 under Technip / NPCC. This project was successfully completed by Jan-06 after the pipeline was laid by the main
contractor, NPCC.
